The M-A Football Tutoring Program is underway and is being led by Craig and Jenna Carson. Craig is an M-A teacher and works with many of our players. Allen Koh and his associates from Cardinal Education, a private tutoring company, are providing specialized tutoring in individual subjects at no cost as a service to our team.
All Varsity and JV Players are required to meet on Wednesdays in the G-Wing from
The program incorporates the team/peer accountability plan that was implemented last year. Players are broken into small academic tutoring groups. A Team Leader is assigned to each group and they are responsible for gathering all weekly progress reports, making sure their members show up on time, and keeping their members on task.
Players work in their groups on Wednesdays under the supervision of Cardinal Education tutors and M-A coaches and staff.
Team Leaders turn progress reports from their groups into Craig Carson every Friday for his review and recommendations.
In addition to our Wednesday football tutoring program, players should take advantage of the other programs M-A offers to support students academically. These include:
Food for Thought – For 9th grade students Tuesday
G-Wing
Players must maintain a 2.0 GPA (a “C” average) to remain eligible to play football or any sport at M-A. The M-A Football tutoring program is designed to exceed this expectation.
Remember - Parents are always encouraged to communicate directly with their child's teachers and guidance advisor.
Many thanks to Coach Salofi for all his work on implementing the program, Allen Koh and the Cardinal Education tutors for their time and expertise, and, of course, Craig and Jenna Carson!
Please feel free to contact Coach Phil Brown, Coach Salofi, or Craig and Jenna if you have any questions.
Thanks and Go Bears!!!
